Raffaella Lupinacci, mezzosoprano

biography

Raffaella Lupinacci, born in Acri in 1984, studied Voice in her native town Music Conservatory. She then specialized with Mirella Freni, Carlo Desideri and Fernando Opa. At the early age of 17, she attended the IV European Competition “Antonio Miserendino”, winning praise from audience and critics.

Raffaella Lupinacci has just won the As.Li.Co. competition. Since 2007 she began her concerts activity in collaboration with the Orchestra Serrensamble, under the baton of Francesco Perri, performing at the Teatro “A. Rendano” in Cosenza. Ms. Lupinacci made her operatic debut in 2011 as Tisbe in Rossini’s Cenerentola, and then as Giovanna and Paggio in the production of Verdi’s Rigoletto at Teatro “A. Rendano” in Cosenza.

She attended the Accademia Rossiniana di Pesaro in 2012, making her debut as Marchesa Melibea and Modestina in Rossini’s Il Viaggio a Reims, following engagements include: L’Olandese Volante, Opera Domani project by As.Li.Co on tour in Italy; Zulma in L’Italiana in Algeri at the Rossini Opera Festival in Pesaro. Particularly interesting it is her collaboration with the As.Li.Co circuit, she indeed performed as Emilia in Otello in Como, Cremona, Pavia, Brescia, and as Isaura in Tancredi in Pavia, Cremona, Como and Brescia where she starred also in the title role; Maometto II in Zurich and on tour in Switzerland; Rossini’s Otello and a Verdian Gala in Antwerp; Petite Messe Solennelle in Saint-Etienne, Alberto Zedda conducting; Dorabella in Così fan tutte in Vicenza; Aureliano in Palmira at the Rossini Opera Festival in Pesaro; La Forza del Destino at the Teatro Regio in Parma; Nabucco for the As.Li.Co circuit; Don Giovanni at the Teatro Comunale Luciano Pavarotti in Modena then on tour in Piacenza, and Lucca; Cherubino in Le Nozze di Figaro at the Teatro dell’Opera in Rome; La Gazzetta at the Rossini Opera Festival in Pesaro.

Plans include: Donna Elvira in Don Giovanni at the Teatro Verdi in Trieste; Fedora (Dimitri) at the Teatro San Carlo in Naples; Rosina in Il Barbiere di Siviglia at the Teatro Comunale in Bologna; Madama Butterfly in Palermo.
