Il brano \u00e8 accostato, nella seconda parte del programma, all\u2019imponente <\/span><\/span><span style=\"font-family: Garamond, serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: small;\"><i>Quartetto n. 14, in do diesis minore, op. 131<\/i><\/span><\/span><span style=\"font-family: Garamond, serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: small;\"> di Ludwig van Beethoven che, significativamente, fu eseguito assieme al Quartetto di Giuseppe Verdi in occasione della sua prima esecuzione in Germania, a Monaco di Baviera, nel febbraio del 1877. L\u2019introduzione del concerto \u00e8 affidata alle trascrizioni per quartetto d\u2019archi di Angelo Mariani, direttore d\u2019orchestra, amico e celebre interprete di Giuseppe Verdi, di brani da <\/span><\/span><span style=\"font-family: Garamond, serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: small;\"><i>Macbeth<\/i><\/span><\/span><span style=\"font-family: Garamond, serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: small;\">, il sibillino Preludio e, dal IV Atto, l\u2019Introduzione e Coro dei profughi scozzesi \u201cPatria oppressa\u201d (trascritti da Mariani nel 1848) e da <\/span><\/span><span style=\"font-family: Garamond, serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: small;\"><i>Un ballo in<\/i><\/span><\/span><span style=\"font-family: Garamond, serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: small;\"> maschera, l\u2019Invocazione di Ulrica, con scene diverse e finale dell\u2019Atto I (trascritti da Mariani nel 1862).<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"western\" align=\"justify\"><span style=\"font-family: Times New Roman, serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><span style=\"font-family: Garamond, serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: small;\">Il concerto \u00e8 preceduto, <\/span><\/span><span style=\"font-family: Garamond, serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: small;\"><b>venerd\u00ec 2 ottobre alle ore 17.30<\/b><\/span><\/span><span style=\"font-family: Garamond, serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: small;\">, nella Sala Mattioli di Palazzo del Governatore dall\u2019incontro a ingresso libero con il Quartetto Prometeo, in programma per Verdi Off nel ciclo <\/span><\/span><span style=\"font-family: Garamond, serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: small;\"><b>A ognuno il suo Verdi<\/b><\/span><\/span><span style=\"font-family: Garamond, serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: small;\">, organizzato da<\/span><\/span><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><span style=\"font-family: Garamond, serif;\">l <\/span><\/span><span style=\"font-family: Garamond, serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: small;\">Servizio Biblioteche del Comune di Parma,<\/span><\/span> <span style=\"font-family: Garamond, serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: small;\">che offre occasioni inedite per ascoltare i racconti e scoprire i libri e le musiche che accompagnano i percorsi di vita e professionali dei pi\u00f9 grandi interpreti e studiosi di Giuseppe Verdi.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"western\" align=\"justify\"><span style=\"font-family: Times New Roman, serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><span style=\"font-family: Garamond, serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: small;\">Formazione di quartetto italiana tra le pi\u00f9 attive a livello internazionale, premiato con il Leone d\u2019Argento alla Biennale Musica nel 2012, il Quartetto Prometeo si compone di Giulio Rovighi e Aldo Campagnari, violini, Danusha Waskiewicz alla viola e Francesco Dillon al violoncello, quattro personalit\u00e0 note al mondo musicale contemporaneo, ed \u00e8 particolarmente apprezzato per la tenuta interpretativa e intellettuale delle sue esecuzioni, tanto nel repertorio tradizionale quanto in quello della musica del nostro tempo, e per l\u2019empatia comunicativa nei confronti del pubblico.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"western\" align=\"justify\"><span class=\"sd-abs-pos\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"file:\/\/\/tmp\/lu14749pkl9zd.tmp\/lu14749pkl9zq_tmp_b6f29fecbd86add4.jpg\" width=\"925\" height=\"87\" name=\"Immagine 3\" border=\"0\" \/> <\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"western\" align=\"justify\"><span style=\"font-family: Times New Roman, serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><span style=\"font-family: Garamond, serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: small;\">Pur essendo all\u2019apice della sua parabola creativa e, dopo <\/span><\/span><span style=\"font-family: Garamond, serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: small;\"><i>Aida<\/i><\/span><\/span><span style=\"font-family: Garamond, serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: small;\"> nel 1871, del suo successo, Giuseppe Verdi non scriver\u00e0 alcuna opera tra gli anni \u201970 e i primi anni \u201980 dell\u2019Ottocento. Sedici anni di silenzio, giustificati in parte dall\u2019assenza di stimoli pragmatici e dal senso di disincanto provato per quella che gli apparve come una deriva del melodramma a livello europeo in direzione del \u201csinfonismo\u201d germanico. Significativamente, questi anni furono interrotti dalla creazione della <\/span><\/span><span style=\"font-family: Garamond, serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: small;\"><i>Messa da Requiem<\/i><\/span><\/span><span style=\"font-family: Garamond, serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: small;\"> nel 1874, dedicata ad Alessandro Manzoni e, nel 1873, da quella del <\/span><\/span><span style=\"font-family: Garamond, serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: small;\"><i>Quartetto per archi in mi minore<\/i><\/span><\/span><span style=\"font-family: Garamond, serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: small;\">, scritto quasi a dimostrazione che fosse possibile preservare uno stile e un gusto melodico italiano pur riallacciandosi, nella scelta della forma e del linguaggio, a un genere appartenente alla tradizione cameristica germanica, che si dimostrava quindi in grado di ospitare linguaggi diversi. Da qui, scrive lo storio della musica Giuseppe Martini: \u201c[\u2026] i profumi d\u2019opera &#8211; non per incapacit\u00e0 di uscire da uno schema ma per offrire un\u2019ironica occasione di dibattito su imitatori e nature culturali. Da qui la scrittura severa basata su un\u2019unica cellula (lo spirito di Haydn!); da qui il brillante <\/span><\/span><span style=\"font-family: Garamond, serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: small;\"><i>Prestissimo<\/i><\/span><\/span><span style=\"font-family: Garamond, serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: small;\">, con un trio a mo\u2019 di canzoncina; da qui la fuga finale, cos\u00ec disarticolata e anti beethoveniana da doverla chiamare \u201cscherzo\u201d\u201d.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"western\" align=\"justify\"><span style=\"font-family: Times New Roman, serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><span style=\"font-family: Garamond, serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: small;\">Un finale che \u00e8 stato spesso accostato, nello spirito e per l\u2019utilizzo della tecnica contrappuntistica adottata, al grandioso finale fugato di <\/span><\/span><span style=\"font-family: Garamond, serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: small;\"><i>Falstaff<\/i><\/span><\/span><span style=\"font-family: Garamond, serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: small;\">, in cui si dice che \u201ctutto nel mondo \u00e8 burla\u201d.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"western\" align=\"justify\"><span style=\"font-family: Times New Roman, serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><span style=\"font-family: Garamond, serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: small;\">Giuseppe Verdi scrivendo al Sindaco cittadino neg\u00f2 il suo consenso alla presentazione del quartetto proprio a Parma, e pi\u00f9 in generale ovunque, prima che fosse pubblicato nel 1876, nonostante le numerose richieste pervenute, motivandolo con l\u2019ammissione che, dal suo punto di vista, l\u2019opera era stata scritta \u201cper semplice passatempo alcuni anni or sono a Napoli e che fu eseguito in casa mia alla presenza di poche persone che erano solite venire da me tutte le sere. Questo per dirle che non ho voluto dare nissuna importanza a quel pezzo e che non desidero almeno per il momento renderlo noto in nissuna maniera\u201d. La prima esecuzione della composizione avvenne infatti nel 1876, anno della sua pubblicazione, alla Societ\u00e0 del Quartetto di Milano, nata nel 1864 e votata fin da allora ad accogliere e promuovere a Milano, e di riflesso in tutte le \u201csociet\u00e0\u201d nascenti sul territorio italiano, la musica cameristica d\u2019oltralpe e in particolare i Quartetti per archi di Ludwig van Beethoven.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"western\" align=\"justify\"><span style=\"font-family: Times New Roman, serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><span style=\"font-family: Garamond, serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: small;\">Con una Fuga si apre quindi, viceversa, il <\/span><\/span><span style=\"font-family: Garamond, serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: small;\"><i>Quartetto in do diesis minore op. 131<\/i><\/span><\/span><span style=\"font-family: Garamond, serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: small;\">, la pi\u00f9 complessa, monumentale e grandiosa, e al contempo enigmatica composizione di Ludwig van Beethoven per quartetto d\u2019archi. Scritta si direbbe quasi in reazione allo studio sulla dissociazione musicale condotto nel Quartetto op. 130, tra il 1825 e il 1826, l\u2019opera \u00e8 la pi\u00f9 strettamente integrata di tutte le sue grandi composizioni, in cui i sette movimenti si incontrano continuamente, come non mai nella musica di Beethoven dando vita, nel rincorrersi di motivi e temi enfatici e inconfondibili, a una connessione indissolubile tra il primo e l&#8217;ultimo movimento.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"western\" align=\"justify\"><span style=\"font-family: Times New Roman, serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><span style=\"font-family: Garamond, serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: small;\">Nel decennio tra la prima esecuzione di <\/span><\/span><span style=\"font-family: Garamond, serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: small;\"><i>Macbeth<\/i><\/span><\/span><span style=\"font-family: Garamond, serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: small;\"> a Firenze (1847) e quella di <\/span><\/span><span style=\"font-family: Garamond, serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: small;\"><i>Un ballo in maschera<\/i><\/span><\/span><span style=\"font-family: Garamond, serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: small;\"> (1959), alla vigilia del proliferare delle Societ\u00e0 del quartetto e club vari di cameristica strumentale, il filone delle trascrizioni per quartetto d\u2019archi di opere, come quelle che il direttore d\u2019orchestra Angelo Mariani andava compiendo su alcuni titoli del suo amico venerato (e futuro nemico) Verdi, si dimostrava assai fortunato. Mariani amava Verdi, di cui divenne anche complice \u201cpolitico\u201d, come rilevano gli storici, in occasione di alcune storiche interpretazioni di <\/span><\/span><span style=\"font-family: Garamond, serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: small;\"><i>Nabucco <\/i><\/span><\/span><span style=\"font-family: Garamond, serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: small;\">che suscitarono reazioni intimidatorie da parte della polizia austriaca, e amava anche i musicisti tedeschi. \u201cA Genova, racconta ancora Giuseppe Martini, Mariani suonava Beethoven alla viola in quartetto e non sottovalutava quel lavoro di trascrizione (\u00abCi vuole una conoscenza del quartetto profondissima, ci vuole un gusto finissimo nel saper scegliere i toni adatti per il maggior effetto di questi strumenti\u00bb): in ogni modo quello su <\/span><\/span><span style=\"font-family: Garamond, serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: small;\"><i>Macbeth<\/i><\/span><\/span><span style=\"font-family: Garamond, serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: small;\">, <\/span><\/span><span style=\"font-family: Garamond, serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: small;\"><i>Vespri <\/i><\/span><\/span><span style=\"font-family: Garamond, serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: small;\">e <\/span><\/span><span style=\"font-family: Garamond, serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: small;\"><i>Un ballo in maschera<\/i><\/span><\/span><span style=\"font-family: Garamond, serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: small;\"> lo discusse con Verdi, che ne fu soddisfatto e sul <\/span><\/span><span style=\"font-family: Garamond, serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: small;\"><i>Ballo<\/i><\/span><\/span><span style=\"font-family: Garamond, serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: small;\"> sugger\u00ec anche qualche ritocco\u201d.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"western\" align=\"justify\"><span style=\"font-family: Times New Roman, serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><span style=\"color: #8f722b;\"><span style=\"font-family: Garamond, serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: small;\"><b>INFORMAZIONI AL PUBBLICO<\/b><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"western\" align=\"justify\"><span style=\"font-family: Times New Roman, serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><span style=\"font-family: Garamond, serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: small;\">I biglietti per gli spettacoli sono nominativi. lavoro pi\u00f9 polemico nel profilo pi\u00f9 basso mai sfoggiato (\u00absenza importanza lo scrissi\u00bb), rispondendo coi fatti all\u2019argomento musicale pi\u00f9 caldo del momento, cio\u00e8 il germanismo serpeggiante fra i giovani compositori italiani. \u201cGermanismo\u201d in Italia equivaleva a \u201cstrumentalismo\u201d e a \u201csinfonismo\u201d, anche nelle opere teatrali, ai quali Verdi opponeva la natura vocale della musica italiana. Erano piovute anche accuse di \u201cwagnerismo\u201d su <\/span><\/span><span style=\"font-family: Garamond, serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: small;\"><i>Aida<\/i><\/span><\/span><span style=\"font-family: Garamond, serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: small;\">. Ce n\u2019era abbastanza per reagire.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"western\" align=\"justify\"><span style=\"font-family: Times New Roman, serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><span style=\"font-family: Garamond, serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: small;\">Si era alla vigilia del proliferare di Societ\u00e0 del quartetto e club vari di cameristica strumentale, filone peraltro radicato in Italia come mostrano le trascrizioni per quartetto d\u2019archi di opere come quelle che il direttore d\u2019orchestra Angelo Mariani aveva compiuto pi\u00f9 di dieci anni prima su alcuni titoli del suo amico venerato (e futuro nemico) Verdi. Mariani amava i musicisti tedeschi, a Genova suonava Beethoven alla viola in quartetto e non sottovalutava quel lavoro di trascrizione (\u00abCi vuole una conoscenza del quartetto profondissima, ci vuole un gusto finissimo nel saper scegliere i toni adatti per il maggior effetto di questi strumenti\u00bb): in ogni modo quello su <\/span><\/span><span style=\"font-family: Garamond, serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: small;\"><i>Macbeth<\/i><\/span><\/span><span style=\"font-family: Garamond, serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: small;\">, <\/span><\/span><span style=\"font-family: Garamond, serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: small;\"><i>Vespri <\/i><\/span><\/span><span style=\"font-family: Garamond, serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: small;\">e <\/span><\/span><span style=\"font-family: Garamond, serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: small;\"><i>Un ballo in maschera<\/i><\/span><\/span><span style=\"font-family: Garamond, serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: small;\"> lo discusse con Verdi, che ne fu soddisfatto e sul <\/span><\/span><span style=\"font-family: Garamond, serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: small;\"><i>Ballo<\/i><\/span><\/span><span style=\"font-family: Garamond, serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: small;\"> sugger\u00ec anche qualche ritocco.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"western\" align=\"justify\"><span style=\"font-family: Times New Roman, serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><span style=\"font-family: Garamond, serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: small;\">Ma erano solo trascrizioni. Verdi che scrive un quartetto, invece, \u00e8 come lanciare la regina in mezzo alla scacchiera. Il Quartetto in mi minore nasce l\u20191 aprile 1873 nell\u2019Albergo delle Crocelle dove Verdi alloggiava a Napoli, era l\u00ec per allestire <\/span><\/span><span style=\"font-family: Garamond, serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: small;\"><i>Aida<\/i><\/span><\/span><span style=\"font-family: Garamond, serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: small;\">, \u00ab<\/span><\/span><span style=\"font-family: Garamond, serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: small;\">e del pari senza importanza venne eseguito una sera in casa mia\u00bb. Sar\u00e0 pubblicato nel 1876. \u00c8 un quartetto all\u2019italiana, a Verdi sarebbe piaciuto trascritto per grande orchestra d\u2019archi, ma piacer\u00e0 pi\u00f9 ai tedeschi che agli italiani. Pochi ne capirono lo scopo: dimostrare che si pu\u00f2 imitare modelli non italiani senza scimmiottarli, e che un quartetto pu\u00f2 ospitare linguaggi diversi. Da qui i profumi d\u2019opera, non per incapacit\u00e0 di uscire da uno schema ma per offrire un\u2019ironica occasione di dibattito su imitatori e nature culturali. Da qui la scrittura severa basata su un\u2019unica cellula (lo spirito di Haydn!); da qui il brillante <\/span><\/span><span style=\"font-family: Garamond, serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: small;\"><i>Prestissimo<\/i><\/span><\/span><span style=\"font-family: Garamond, serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: small;\">, con un trio a mo\u2019 di canzoncina; da qui la fuga finale, cos\u00ec disarticolata e antibeethoveniana da doverla chiamare \u201cscherzo\u201d. <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"western\" align=\"justify\"><span style=\"font-family: Times New Roman, serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><span style=\"font-family: Garamond, serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: small;\">Di Beethoven del resto in Italia ancora non si conoscevano bene gli ultimi quartetti come l\u2019op. 131 che, finito nell\u2019autunno 1826, lo stesso Beethoven non riuscir\u00e0 ad ascoltare. Qui ogni convenzione \u00e8 al contempo annullata e sublimata. Una fuga solenne all\u2019inizio, come un pensoso Bach in cantoria. Poi una scattante danza campestre, variazioni che gorgogliano come ruscelletti, evaporano, si fanno luce che si nasconde fra le nubi. Era un sogno? Ma ogni parola \u00e8 di troppo. Sette movimenti, senza pause fra loro. Oppure quattro con un preludio e due interludi?
