Il prossimo 28 aprile al Metropolitan Club di New York, il Teatro Regio di Parma in collaborazione con gli International Friends of Festival Verdi realizza lo IFFV Spring Gala per promuovere il XXII Festival Verdi (a Parma e Busseto, 22 settembre \u2013 16 ottobre 2022).<\/p>\n

Per il Teatro Regio di Parma e il suo territorio la serata, originariamente programmata per il 2020, rappresenta un grande sforzo, particolarmente in questo periodo post pandemico, che tra i suoi molteplici obiettivi ha quello di accrescere l\u2019attenzione da oltreoceano a sostegno di realt\u00e0 culturali e imprenditoriali italiane di eccellenza.<\/p>\n

Nel club privato fondato nel 1891 dal magnate J. P. Morgan, 150 selezionati ospiti (personalit\u00e0 della finanza, dell\u2019editoria e dell\u2019imprenditoria statunitense) parteciperanno alla presentazione del XXII Festival Verdi in una cena di gala ideata e preparata dallo chef Massimo Bottura, che insieme al suo team cuciner\u00e0 un men\u00f9 creato per l\u2019occasione Le aziende del territorio parmigiano hanno contribuito con i propri prodotti alla realizzazione dell\u2019evento, tra i quali avranno risalto Barilla, Delicius, Mutti, Parmigiano Reggiano, Prosciutto di Parma, Rizzoli, Zarotti.<\/p>\n

Al Gala prenderanno parte Fabrizio Di Michele Console Generale d\u2019Italia a New York, Federico Pizzarotti, Sindaco di Parma e Presidente della Fondazione Teatro Regio di Parma Anna Maria Meo, Direttore generale del Teatro Regio di Parma e Direttore artistico del Festival Verdi, James E. Miller, Presidente degli International Friends of Festival Verdi.<\/p>\n

La serata sar\u00e0 impreziosita dall\u2019esibizione del soprano Eleonora Buratto, che sar\u00e0 presente insieme al Maestro Riccardo Frizza, protagonista al XXII Festival Verdi sul podio di Simon Boccanebra, e a Davinia Rodriguez.<\/p>\n

Nel corso della serata inoltre avr\u00e0 luogo una silent e live auction con Brook Hazelton, celebre banditore di Christie\u2019s che metter\u00e0 all\u2019asta articoli realizzati dai laboratori di sartoria e scenotecnica del Teatro ed esperienze esclusive che intendono svelare e far vivere al pubblico internazionale il prestigio, la cultura e la storia del nostro nel territorio.<\/p>\n

La serata \u00e8 realizzata da Teatro Regio di Parma e International Friends of Festival Verdi con il supporto dell\u2019Ambasciata Italiana a Washington e del Consolato Generale di New York, Regione Emilia-Romagna APT Servizi, #inEmiliaRomagna, Comune di Parma, Consorzio Parma Alimentare, Fondazione Parma UNESCO City of Gastronomy, Parma Food Valley, Barilla, Delicius, Mutti, Parmigiano Reggiano, Prosciutto di Parma, Rizzoli, Zarotti, Caruso, Castello di Montechiarugolo, Dallara, Frette, M. Casa Maria Luigia, Oinoe Vini, Palazzo Marchi, Strategic Claims Services, Huntington, Gryphon, Millersha attorneys at law.<\/p>\n

IFFV \u00e8 l\u2019associazione non profit, fondata proprio negli Stati Uniti nel 2017, che nel 2019 ha ottenuto dall\u2019IRS la qualifica 501 \u00a9 (3) e che \u00e8 tra le poche simili di cui sono dotate le istituzioni culturali italiane. \u00c8 composta da circa un centinaio di membri e dalla sua fondazione ha contribuito al sostegno al Teatro Regio di Parma per il Festival Verdi con quasi \u20ac 2 MLN per stimolare e condividere nuove ricerche e riflessioni sulla musica di Giuseppe Verdi, promuovendo e tramandando in tutto il mondo la musica del Maestro nei suoi luoghi natali e intraprendendo specifiche azioni di supporto alle forme spettacolari e ai programmi educativi e di divulgazione.<\/p>\n

\u201cVorrei esprimere il mio pi\u00f9 profondo apprezzamento l\u2019impegno degli International Friends of Festival Verdi nel promuovere negli Stati Uniti l\u2019opera e le realizzazioni di Giuseppe Verdi \u2013 dichiara Fabrizio Di Michele. Verdi non \u00e8 stato solo uno dei pi\u00f9 grandi compositori ad aver mai calcato il palcoscenico dell\u2019opera italiana, ma la sua vita, la sua passione e il suo impegno personali sono indissolubilmente legati al Risorgimento e alla storia d\u2019Italia. Poich\u00e9 l\u2019arte, la musica e la cultura sono in grado di creare legami tra persone al di l\u00e0 delle distanze geografiche, Verdi \u00e8 stato per un secolo un potente ambasciatore di bellezza e armonia, con le sue composizioni che hanno raggiunto ogni angolo del mondo. Ci\u00f2 \u00e8 particolarmente vero per New York City, un luogo che gode di un rapporto speciale con l\u2019Italia. Il bellissimo monumento in onore di Verdi, creato dallo scultore italiano Pasquale Civiletti nel 1906 e situato nell\u2019Upper West Side, \u00e8 una testimonianza della genuina ammirazione che i newyorkesi avevano per capolavori come Rigoletto, Il Trovatore o La Traviata. L\u2019acclamato Festival Verdi, che come ogni anno si svolger\u00e0 in autunno a Parma, \u00e8 una rievocazione unica del genio verdiano. Attraverso il Festival, il Teatro Regio e il Comune di Parma interpretano, promuovono e onorano l\u2019opera di Verdi, assicurando che la sua eredit\u00e0 duri nel tempo. Credo davvero che il loro lodevole sforzo meriti lodi e sostegno. Pertanto, sono estremamente grato a tutti coloro che hanno reso possibile questo Gala di Primavera, al famoso chef italiano Massimo Bottura che ha curato la cena, alle aziende italiane che hanno contribuito all\u2019organizzazione, ma soprattutto a tutti i mecenati degli IFFV, la cui generosit\u00e0 rinvigorisce il legame di lunga data tra New York e la cultura italiana\u201d.<\/p>\n

\u201cParma \u00e8 una citt\u00e0 italiana dalle molte eccellenze e talenti che la rendono conosciuta nel mondo \u2013 dichiara Federico Pizzarotti. Una boutique capitale recentemente nominata Citt\u00e0 Creativa Unesco per la Gastronomia e Capitale Italiana della Cultura 2020-2021, punta di diamante della food valley e della motor valley della Regione Emilia-Romagna, ducato che annovera quattordici castelli nella sua provincia, \u00e8 espressione raffinata di un territorio da vivere, amare, gustare. Il cuore di questo territorio batte al ritmo della grande musica: quella di Giuseppe Verdi e Arturo Toscanini, che sono nati nelle nostre terre e da Busseto e da Parma hanno varcato i propri confini, continuando a ispirare e a far pulsare l\u2019arte e la cultura del mondo. Il Teatro Regio di Parma, che ho l\u2019onore di presiedere in quanto sindaco della citt\u00e0, ha tra le sue missioni quella di promuovere la diffusione dell\u2019arte e della cultura dello spettacolo, la formazione professionale dei quadri artistici e tecnici e l\u2019educazione musicale, al fine di conservare e valorizzare l\u2019inestimabile eredit\u00e0 storico-culturale legata, in particolare, all\u2019opera, alla danza e alla musica. Questa eredit\u00e0 si rinnova ogni giorno anche grazie al sostegno degli International Friends of Festival Verdi ai quali con questo Gala desideriamo rendere merito e portare oi l\u2019abbraccio di Parma e di tutta l\u2019Italia.<\/p>\n

\u201cIl Festival Verdi da oltre vent\u2019anni celebra e promuove il genio di Giuseppe Verdi in Italia nelle terre in cui il Maestro \u00e8 nato e vissuto, Parma e Busseto \u2013 dichiara Anna Maria Meo. Recentemente premiato quale Best Festival agli International Opera Awards a Londra, negli ultimi anni ha goduto di risultati artistici importanti che lo hanno ricollocato nel contesto internazionale cui un Artista come Giuseppe Verdi ha diritto. Profondamente radicato nel nostro territorio, proietta la sua dimensione oltre i confini dell\u2019Italia, e anzi nell\u2019offrire 3 debutti di nuove produzioni in 3 giorni consecutivi per 4 settimane in 30 giorni \u00e8 un festival che pu\u00f2 esistere solo nell\u2019abbraccio del pubblico che raggiunge Parma da tutti e cinque i continenti.
\nFestival Verdi, che ha fatto dell\u2019innovazione e della ricerca musicologica i cardini su cui poggia il progetto artistico e musicale, rappresenta una vera e propria sfida che si rinnova ogni anno, e che in questa fase post pandemica guadagna un senso ancora pi\u00f9 pregnante. L\u2019avere stretti accanto a noi dei mecenati americani appassionati e fieri sostenitori del Festival \u00e8 per noi ragione di grande orgoglio e ci impone di manifestare profonda gratitudine a tutti gli associati e soprattutto a James Miller che non solo non ha fatto mancare il sostegno al festival in questi anni difficili, ma ha voluto incrementarlo quando la pandemia ha fatto sentire i propri effetti sulla nostra attivit\u00e0. \u00c8 la testimonianza concreta del vero spirito dei mecenati che ci ha permesso di mantenere le progettualit\u00e0 pi\u00f9 significative come la formazione di giovani talenti e la produzione di nuovi allestimenti che mettano in dialogo la tradizione con i nuovi linguaggi. A tutti questi mecenati illuminati che festeggiamo a New York, va la gratitudine e l\u2019abbraccio del Teatro Regio di Parma e di tutti i suoi lavoratori e artisti\u201d.<\/p>\n

\u201cSar\u00e0 un grande piacere portersi ritrovare con tanti amici, colleghi e distinti ospiti dopo questi difficili ultimi anni trascorsi nella speciale serata che ci vedr\u00e0 riuniti per celebrare l\u2019arte, la squisita cucina dell\u2019Emilia-Romagna, e, soprattutto, la musica di Verdi, e nell\u2019occasione raccogliere fondi per il Festival Verdi – dichiara James E. Miller. Voglio anche esprimere la mia profonda gratitudine a Eleonora Buratto e allo chef Massimo Bottura per averci aiutato a realizzare questo evento cos\u00ec speciale. A quanti di voi non hanno in precedenza partecipato al Festival Verdi a Parma o non hanno ancora scoperto il grande lavoro degli International Friends nel supportare la mission del Festival Verdi, vi incoraggio fortemente a visitare Parma e il Festival alla prima occasione. Parma \u00e8 un posto davvero speciale e ci sono molte buone ragioni che hanno portato Parma ad essere nominata Capitale Italiana della Cultura, non da ultimo il Festival Verdi. Spero di vedervi e darvi il benvenuto questo autunno a Parma e agli spettacoli che compongono il meraviglioso programma del Festival Verdi, dal 22 settembre al 16 ottobre 2022, con La forza del destino, Simon Boccanegra, Il Trovatore, Messa da Requiem e Quattro pezzi sacri. Il lavoro degli International Friends, cos\u00ec come questa serata, non sarebbe possibile senza la forte guida di Anna Maria Meo, Direttore generale del Teatro Regio di Parma, Silvia Fresier, direttore generale degli International Friends of Festival Verdi, e Elena Fiorini dal Teatro Regio di Parma, come anche i rispettivi team per il loro instancabile lavoro e la dedizione al Teatro Regio e al Festival Verdi. Vorrei anche esprimere la mia gratitudine agli sponsor della serata, come anche al Consiglio di Amministrazione e al Consiglio Consultivo degli International Friends, per il loro significativo lavoro e il loro supporto che hanno reso possibile l\u2019evento. \u201cCultura e food sono due mondi sempre pi\u00f9 intrecciati. Parma ne \u00e8 l\u2019esempio perfetto: \u00e8 stata la prima citt\u00e0 italiana a ottenere da UNESCO il riconoscimento di Creative City of Gastronomy e per due anni ha potuto fregiarsi del titolo di Capitale Italiana della Cultura, con un ricco calendario di appuntamenti. Un evento come l\u2019International Friends of Festival Verdi Spring Gala di New York rappresenta una sintesi perfetta di questi mondi: da un lato, la musica e l\u2019opera lirica, con il Maestro Giuseppe Verdi e il Teatro Regio che fanno di Parma un riferimento per i melomani di tutto il mondo, dall\u2019altro le eccellenze della Parma Food Valley – sottolinea Cristiano Casa, Assessore al Turismo e al Progetto UNESCO del Comune di Parma. – Cultura musicale e identit\u00e0 gastronomica possono essere volano l\u2019uno per l\u2019altro: insieme, queste due eccellenze devono contribuire alla valorizzazione del brand Parma e alla crescita turistica di tutto il territorio\u201d.<\/p>\n

On April 28 at the New York Metropolitan Club, Teatro Regio di Parma will host the IFFV Spring Gala to promote the XXII Festival Verdi (in Parma and Busseto, September 22 – October 16 2022), in collaboration with the association International Friends of Festival Verdi.<\/p>\n

Originally scheduled for 2020, the event represents a great effort for Teatro Regio di Parma and its territory, particularly in this post-pandemic period. The aim is, among many others, to increase an overseas support and attention towards the\u00a0excellence\u00a0of Italian cultural and entrepreneurial realities.<\/p>\n

The evening will be hosted on\u00a0April 28th\u00a0at the private club founded in 1891 by the magnate J. P. Morgan. 150 selected guests – among which personalities from the US financial, publishing and entrepreneurial panorama – will participate in the presentation of the XXII Festival\u00a0Verdi. The\u00a0gala dinner will be prepared by chef Massimo Bottura, whose tailor-made menu will highlight the products of the Parmesan territory, whose protagonists (Barilla, Delicius,\u00a0Mutti, Parmigiano Reggiano, Prosciutto di Parma, Rizzoli, Zarotti)\u00a0will be present at the evening.<\/p>\n

The Gala will see the participation of the Italian General Consul in New York Fabrizio Di Michele, the mayor of Parma and president of the Teatro Regio di Parma Federico Pizzarotti, the general manager of Teatro Regio di Parma and artistic director of Festival Verdi Anna Maria Meo, the President of the International Friends of Festival Verdi James E. Miller.<\/p>\n

The evening will be further valorized by the performance of the soprano Eleonora Buratto who will attend the evening together with M\u00b0 Riccardo Frizza, protagonist of the XXII Festival Verdi in the conduction of Simon Boccanegra, and Davinia Rodriguez.<\/p>\n

Furthermore, the event will include a silent and live auction with\u00a0the famous Christie\u2019s auctioneer\u00a0Brook Hazelton, who will present exclusive items, specifically realized for the occasion by the professional laboratories of tailoring and scenography from Teatro Regio di Parma, as well as exclusive experiences aiming at revealing the prestige, the cultural heritage and the history of our territory to an international audience.<\/p>\n

The evening gala is organized by Teatro Regio di Parma and International Friends of Festival Verdi with the support of the Italian Embassy in Washington and the Consulate General of New York, Regione Emilia-Romagna APT Servizi, #inEmiliaRomagna, Comune di Parma, Consorzio Parma Alimentare, Fondazione Parma UNESCO City of Gastronomy, Parma Food Valley, Barilla, Delicius, Mutti, Parmigiano Reggiano, Prosciutto di Parma, Rizzoli, Zarotti, Caruso, Castello di Montechiarugolo, Dallara, Frette, M. IFFV is the non-profit association founded in the United States in 2017. In 2019, it obtained the 501 \u00a9 qualification from the IRS (3), being one of the few of its kind among the Italian cultural institutions. The association is composed by a hundred members circa and, since its foundation, it has contributed to the support of Teatro Regio di Parma for Festival Verdi with almost \u20ac2MLN to stimulate and share new research and reflections upon Giuseppe Verdi\u2019s music, promoting and passing on the music of the Maestro in his homeland and undertaking specific actions to support both arts and entertainment forms and educational programs.<\/p>\n

\u201cI express my deepest appreciation for the commitment of the International Friends of Festival Verdi in the promotion of Giuseppe Verdi\u2019s work and achievements in the United States – states Fabrizio Di Michele. Verdi was not just one of the greatest composers to have of Italian opera: his life, his passion and his personal commitment are inevitably linked to the Italian Risorgimento and to the history of country itself. As art, music and culture are able to create bonds notwithstanding geographic distances, Verdi has been a powerful ambassador of beauty and harmony for a century, and his compositions have reached every corner of the world, of which New York City represents a great example. This city has a special relationship with Italy. The beautiful monument in honor of Verdi, created by the Italian sculptor Pasquale Civiletti in 1906 and located on the Upper West Side, witnesses the genuine admiration that New Yorkers have had for masterpieces such as Rigoletto, Il Trovatore or La Traviata. The acclaimed Festival Verdi, taking place yearly in the autumn in Parma, represent a unique re-enactment of Verdi’s genius. Through the Festival, Teatro Regio and the municipality of Parma interpret, promote and honor his work, ensuring his legacy for the future generations. I truly believe their effort deserves both praise and support. Therefore, I am extremely grateful to all those who made this Spring Gala possible: to the famous Italian chef Massimo Bottura for such a special dinner, to the Italian companies contributing to the overall organization and, most importantly, to all the patrons of the IFFV, whose generosity reinvigorates the solid and long-lasting bond between New York and Italian culture\u201d.<\/p>\n

\u201cParma is an Italian city of excellence and talents internationally acknowledged as such \u2013 states Federico Pizzarotti \u2013 a splendid capital recently nominated by Unesco as Creative city for gastronomy and Italian Capital of culture 2020-2021, and the central district of the food and motor valleys of the region Emilia-Romagna. A duchy including fourteen castles in its province and representing an elegant expression of a territory to live, love and enjoy. The heart of such lands beats to the rhythm of grandiose music, as these territories were the homeland of Giuseppe Verdi and Arturo Toscanini, who explored across the borders of Busseto and Parma and whose work continues to inspire and spark both artistic and cultural initiatives worldwide. The activity of Teatro Regio di Parma \u2013 which I have the honor of presiding as mayor of the city \u2013 is dedicated to many institutional purposes, among which the promotion and the spreading of art and the culture of entertainment, of the professional training of artistic and technical executives and of the musical education, in order to preserve and enhance the invaluable historical and cultural heritage, particularly linked to opera, ballet and music. Such a legacy is renewed every day also thanks to your support, and this is the reason why we are here tonight: to give you the credit you deserve and to bring you the warm embrace of Parma and of the whole Italy\u201d.<\/p>\n

\u201cFor over twenty years, Festival Verdi has been celebrating and promoting the genius of Giuseppe Verdi in the Italian lands where he was born and lived in, Parma and Busseto \u2013 states Anna Maria Meo \u2013 Recently awarded as Best Festival at the International Opera Awards in London, Festival Verdi represents an excellency at an international level, promoting the figure of Giuseppe Verdi in the context of the worldwide acknowledgement he deserves. The Festival is deeply rooted in our territory, ideally spreading beyond the borders of Italy and presenting 4 debuts of new productions in 4 consecutive days for 4 weeks in 30 days. For such reasons, it is a festival that can only exist in the embrace of the audiences reaching Parma from all five continents. Every edition of Festival Verdi, well-grounded upon innovation and musicological research, represents a new challenge, especially in the current post-pandemic period. To have passionate and proud American supporters of the Festival represents an element of great pride for us. Therefore, we express deep gratitude to all the associates, and especially to James Miller, whose perpetual support for the festival in such difficult years adds up to its increased efforts when the pandemic had been influencing our activity. It is the consistent support of the supporters as such that has allowed us to keep working on the most significant projects, such as the training of young talents and the production of new installations, creating a dialogue between tradition and new, innovative languages. \nFor those of you who have not previously attended Festival Verdi in Parma or been exposed to the great work of International Friends in supporting the mission of Festival Verdi, I strongly encourage you to visit Parma and attend Festival Verdi at your earliest convenience. Parma is a very special place and there are many good reasons that Parma has been named Italian Capital of Culture, not the least of which is Festival Verdi. I hope to see and welcome you this fall in Parma at the amazing program announced for Festival Verdi to be held between September 22 and October 16, 2022, featuring La forza del destino, Simon Boccanegra, Il trovatore, Messa da Requiem and Quattro pezzi sacri.
