Lo Studio PICCO Architetti firma la trasformazione in social e student housing dell\u2019ex Villaggio Olimpico di Torino ideato da Otto Steidle nel 2006, rileggendo il progetto dell\u2019architetto tedesco<\/em><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n\n\n\n

Lo\u00a0Studio PICCO Architetti<\/strong>\u00a0ha completato la trasformazione dell’ex Villaggio Olimpico di Torino<\/strong>, progettato nel\u00a02006<\/strong>\u00a0da Otto Steidle con il coordinamento di\u00a0Benedetto Camerana<\/strong>, in\u00a0alloggi per studenti e abitazioni sociali.<\/strong>\u00a0Inizialmente concepito per i Giochi Olimpici invernali, il villaggio \u00e8 stato successivamente utilizzato per scopi diversi, fino a essere oggetto di un’occupazione abusiva di vasta scala.<\/p>\n

PICCO Architetti ha riqualificato\u00a0sette delle trentanove palazzine<\/strong>\u00a0del complesso, mantenendo l’impostazione originale di Steidle, che prevedeva una\u00a0disposizione aperta tra gli edifici con spazi verdi e percorsi pedonali.\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n

Il progetto di PICCO Architetti,\u00a0con la direzione lavori di Studio Pession e la realizzazione dell\u2019impresa CO.GE.FA. spa di Torino,<\/strong>\u00a0ha creato un nuovo modello residenziale flessibile, a partire\u00a0dall\u2019impostazione originale di Steidle<\/strong>. L\u2019esito \u00e8 quello di un complesso\u00a0confermato nell\u2019identit\u00e0 formale ma profondamente rinnovato nei contenuti<\/strong>: una residenza flessibile, organizzata in alloggi di diverse dimensioni.<\/p>\n

Da una situazione di emergenza sociale, il nuovo complesso residenziale \u00e8\u00a0una straordinaria opportunit\u00e0 di rigenerazione urbana, con una dotazione di circa 400 posti letto.\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n

L\u2019operazione \u00e8 stata promossa dal\u00a0Fondo Abitare Sostenibile Piemonte<\/strong>\u00a0gestito da\u00a0Investire Sgr<\/strong>\u00a0con la partecipazione del Fondo Investimenti per l\u2019Abitare gestito da\u00a0Cassa Depositi e Prestiti Real Asset Sgr,<\/strong>\u00a0della\u00a0Fondazione Compagnia di San Paolo<\/strong>, della\u00a0Fondazione CRT Sviluppo<\/strong>\u00a0e<\/strong>\u00a0Crescita<\/strong>, del\u00a0Fondo Social & Human Purpose, Comparto A<\/strong>, gestito da\u00a0REAM Sgr<\/strong>\u00a0\u2013 e delle maggiori fondazioni di origine bancaria piemontesi. Il campus \u00e8 gestito dal provider italiano di co-living e di housing per studenti universitari,\u00a0Camplus<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

La riqualificazione delle palazzine contribuir\u00e0 a fornire un’offerta abitativa moderna e accessibile a Torino, una citt\u00e0 universitaria in continua crescita. Il progetto potrebbe anche essere un catalizzatore per la trasformazione di un’area urbana circostante, con il previsto sviluppo del Parco della Salute, della Ricerca e dell’Innovazione e il ripristino delle arcate dell’ex mercato.<\/p>\n

PICCO Architetti has completed the transformation of the\u00a0former Olympic Village in Turin,<\/strong>\u00a0designed in\u00a02006 by Otto Steidle<\/strong>\u00a0with the coordination of Benedetto Camerana, into student housing and social housing. Initially conceived for the Winter Olympics, the village was later repurposed for various uses and eventually became the subject of a large-scale squatter occupation.<\/p>\n

PICCO Architetti has refurbished\u00a0seven of the thirty-nine buildings\u00a0<\/strong>within the complex while preserving Steidle’s original layout, which featured an open arrangement of buildings with green spaces and pedestrian pathways.<\/p>\n

Under the direction of\u00a0Studio Pession and the construction by CO.GE.FA. spa in Turin,<\/strong>\u00a0PICCO Architetti’s project has created a\u00a0new flexible residential model, building upon Steidle’s original concept<\/strong>. The result is a complex that\u00a0maintains its<\/strong>\u00a0formal identity but has been significantly renewed in its content<\/strong>\u2014a flexible residence with various-sized apartments.<\/p>\n

From a situation of social emergency, the new residential complex represents an extraordinary opportunity for urban regeneration,\u00a0providing approximately 400 beds.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The project was promoted with the support of various foundations and funds, including the Sustainable Housing Fund of Piedmont managed by Investire\u00a0Sgr, the Housing Investment Fund managed by Cassa Depositi e Prestiti Real Asset Sgr, the Compagnia di San Paolo Foundation, the CRT Development and Growth Foundation, and the Social & Human Purpose Fund, Compartment A, managed by REAM Sgr. The campus is managed by the Italian co-living and student housing provider, Camplus.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The refurbishment of the buildings will contribute to offering\u00a0modern and accessible housing options in Turin<\/strong>, a growing university city. Additionally, the project could serve as a catalyst for the\u00a0transformation of the surrounding urban area<\/strong>, with plans for the development of the Health, Research, and Innovation Park and the restoration of the arcades of the former market.<\/p>\n
