From Budapest to Bologna<\/strong><\/td><\/tr>

\ud83c\uddec\ud83c\udde7 Riccardo Frizza\u2019s March will be filled with symphonic music, with two concerts in Budapest with the Hungarian Radio Symphony Orchestra (broadcast live on Bart\u00f3k Radio) and one in Bologna with the Teatro Comunale Orchestra.
The Maestro spoke in great detail about the upcoming concerts:<\/strong>

\u00abI\u2019m looking forward to a March entirely devoted to symphonic works, thanks not just to the programmes I\u2019ve chosen to prepare and the orchestras that I\u2019ll be conducting, but also to its meaning for me at this time. Accompanying me on a creative journey, rather like communicating vessels, it corroborates the great theatrical works that I\u2019ve just had and soon will have the opportunity to conduct and, conversely, encourages me to immerse myself in the purely symphonic, with the desire to speak only through music, in an intense dialogue with my musicians. On 3rd and 22nd March, I will be with the Hungarian Radio Symphony Orchestra<\/strong> and on 28th March with the Teatro Comunale di Bologna<\/strong> orchestra. In the first of the concerts, at the Liszt Academy, Budapest, we will embark on what appears, but only at first sight, to be a tortuous journey between the minute sketches of the Symphonic Moments<\/em> by Ern\u0151 Dohn\u00e1nyi (eminent pianist, composer, teacher and founding director in 1943 of our orchestra), its essence purely Hungarian, and three compositions which are, for various reasons, the essence of America: Knoxville, Summer of 1915<\/em> by Barber, and Songs<\/em> and An American in Paris<\/em> by Gershwin.On 22nd March at the M\u00fcpa, I will again be with my Hungarian orchestra, joined by the chorus prepared by Zolt\u00e1n Pad, to perform the Verdi Requiem<\/em>. It is a perfect masterpiece that will allow us to showcase the intimate artistic fellowship that has developed from our work together and from my privileged relationship with this orchestra and chorus, with whom I\u2019ve been honoured to work as chief conductor since Spring 2022. For the occasion, we will be welcoming the soloists Leah Crocetto, Szilvia V\u00f6r\u00f6s, Piero Pretti <\/strong>and G\u00e1bor Bretz<\/strong>.On 28th March, I will be in different country with a different artistic climate, with the orchestra of the Teatro Comunale di Bologna, performing the treasure that is Arnold Schoenberg\u2019s Sei lieder giovanili <\/em>in the transcription by Alessandro Solbiati (soloist Monica Bacelli<\/strong>). This work was taken by Solbiati from the original Lieder for voice and piano, and recreated for female voice and orchestra, resulting in a version that fine-tunes the dreamlike nature of the work without disrupting its stylistic form. In the second part, we will be performing Mahler\u2019s Fifth Symphony<\/em>, a work that marks a turning point in the composer\u2019s poetics, with the abandonment of those fairytale, allegorical inspirations that had previously been the lifeblood of his symphonies. With his Fifth Symphony<\/em>, Mahler expanded space and time to open up a permanent rift in terms of content, definitively breaking previous rules and creating the last, great Western symphonic style\u00bb.<\/td><\/tr><\/tbody><\/table><\/figure>\n\n\n\n

\ud83c\uddee\ud83c\uddf9 Il mese di marzo di Riccardo Frizza sar\u00e0 ricco di musica sinfonica, con due concerti a Budapest con la Hungarian Radio Symphony Orchestra (in diretta su Radio Bart\u00f3k) e uno a Bologna con l\u2019Orchestra del Teatro Comunale.
<\/strong>Il Maestro ha parlato dettagliatamente dei concerti in programma:<\/strong>

\u00abPregusto il mio marzo interamente sinfonico non solo per i programmi che ho voluto affrontare e le orchestre che diriger\u00f2, ma anche per quello che rappresenta per me in questa stagione, accompagnandomi in un percorso creativo che, come nei vasi comunicanti, corrobora le grandi opere teatrali che ho appena diretto e che sto per dirigere e, viceversa, mi invoglia ad immergermi nel sinfonismo puro, con il desiderio di raccontare solo con la musica, in un dialogo serrato con i miei musicisti. Che il 3 e il 22 marzo saranno quelli della Hungarian Radio Symphony Orchestra<\/strong> e il 28 marzo quelli dell\u2019orchestra del Teatro Comunale di Bologna<\/strong>. Nel primo dei concerti, alla Liszt Academy di Budapest, faremo un viaggio solo apparentemente tortuoso tra gli schizzi minuscoli dei Symphonic Moments<\/em> di Ern\u0151 Dohn\u00e1nyi \u2013 l\u2019illustre pianista, compositore, didatta e direttore che ha fondato la nostra orchestra nel 1943 -, un purissimo distillato ungherese, e tre composizioni che rappresentano, per vari motivi, un altro ottimo distillato ma di marca americana: Knoxville, Summer of 1915<\/em> di Barber, Songs<\/em> e An American in Paris<\/em> di Gershwin.
Ancora con la mia orchestra ungherese, alla quale si aggiunger\u00e0 il coro preparato da Zolt\u00e1n Pad, il 22 marzo al M\u00fcpa eseguiremo il Requiem<\/em> di Verdi. Un capolavoro perfetto per permetterci di mostrare l\u2019intima comunione artistica frutto della nostra collaborazione e del rapporto privilegiato che ho con questi complessi orchestrali e corali dei quali ho l\u2019onore di essere il direttore principale dalla primavera del 2022. Accoglieremo per l\u2019occasione i solisti Leah Crocetto, Szilvia V\u00f6r\u00f6s, Piero Pretti <\/strong>e G\u00e1bor Bretz<\/strong>.Il 28 marzo cambio paese e temperatura artistica e affronto, con l\u2019Orchestra del Comunale di Bologna, una preziosit\u00e0 come i Sei lieder giovanili<\/em> di Arnold Schoenberg nella trascrizione di Alessandro Solbiati (solista Monica Bacelli<\/strong>). Opera che Solbiati ricrea per voce femminile e orchestra dagli originali Lieder per voce e pianoforte, ottenendo una versione che affina il carattere onirico delle pagine senza stravolgerne il modello stilistico. Nella seconda parte eseguiremo la Quinta Sinfonia<\/em> di Mahler, lavoro che segna un momento di svolta nella poetica del compositore con l\u2019abbandono di quelle ispirazioni fiabesche e allegoriche che erano state la linfa delle sinfonie precedenti. Mahler con la Quinta<\/em>, dilatando lo spazio e il tempo, apr\u00ec uno squarcio definitivo sullo sviluppo dei contenuti, arrivando a rompere definitivamente le regole precedenti e creando l\u2019ultimo grande linguaggio sinfonico dell\u2019Occidente\u00bb.<\/td><\/tr>
