\ud83c\uddec\ud83c\udde7 The Teatro dell’Opera di Roma is celebrating the 250th anniversary of the premiere of Mozart\u2019s Il Re Pastore<\/em><\/strong> with a new production of the opera, which will run from Wednesday 14 May<\/strong> at the Teatro Nazionale<\/strong>. A standout in this project is Benedetta Torre<\/strong> who will make a double debut<\/strong> performing the role of Tamiri<\/strong> and stepping onto the stage of the Teatro Nazionale for the first time. This marks another milestone in her continued artistic development, particularly within the Mozart repertoire where she has earned acclaim in recent seasons for her sensitivity, vocal artistry and stage presence.

\u201cI am thrilled to have the opportunity to portray the exiled princess Tamiri<\/strong> here in Rome, a city where I first sangSusanna and where I performed my very first Mozart with stage director Graham Vick,\u201d said Benedetta just days before the premiere.<\/strong><\/em> \u201cThough Il Re Pastore<\/em> is not one of Mozart’s most famous operas, it is truly a hidden gem. The themes it explores, which remain incredibly relevant today, are conveyed both musically and dramatically with remarkable power by the young Mozart. I\u2019m referring to the theme of war\u2014seen from the perspective of both the victor and the defeated\u2014as well as the dynamics of power, different ways of understanding it and the idea of love that is free from social constraints. The female characters in this opera, in particular, embody these principles, showing incredible strength of character. They even drive the action and help the male characters fulfill their destinies.
The work I\u2019ve done with Cecilia Ligorio<\/strong> on the character development has been both stimulating and insightful, focusing on realism in the relationships between the characters and striving for emotional truth in every moment. Whether in the recitatives or the virtuosic and legato phrases of the arias, every moment is rich with emotion and depth. Maestro Manlio Benzi<\/strong> has fully embraced this approach, paying great attention to the recitatives and Mozart’s phrasing, helping us artists stay true to the essence of Il Re Pastore<\/em> musically.\u201d

The opera will be on stage on 14, 16, 18, 21, and 23 May<\/strong> and will also be broadcast on Rai Radio3<\/strong>.<\/td><\/tr><\/tbody><\/table><\/figure>\n\n\n\n

\ud83c\uddee\ud83c\uddf9 Il Teatro dell\u2019Opera di Roma celebra i 250 anni dalla prima esecuzione de Il re pastore<\/em><\/strong> di Mozart con una nuova produzione dell\u2019opera, in scena da mercoled\u00ec 14 maggio al Teatro Nazionale.<\/strong> A spiccare in questo progetto \u00e8 il nome di Benedetta Torre<\/strong> che affronta un doppio debutto<\/strong>: per la prima volta nei panni di Tamiri<\/strong> e per la prima volta sul palcoscenico del Teatro Nazionale. Una conferma della sua continua crescita artistica, in particolare in quel repertorio mozartiano nel quale da qualche stagione ha saputo imporsi per raffinatezza, musicalit\u00e0 e presenza scenica.

\u00abMi riempie di gioia avere l\u2019occasione di dar voce all\u2019esule principessa Tamiri qui a Roma, dove cantai la mia primissima Susanna, nonch\u00e9 il mio primissimo Mozart, con la regia di Graham Vick \u2013 ha dichiarato Benedetta a pochi giorni dalla prima.<\/strong><\/em> L\u2019opera non \u00e8 tra le pi\u00f9 conosciute ma \u00e8 comunque una chicca di straordinaria suggestione perch\u00e9 i temi proposti, oltre ad essere incredibilmente attuali, sono resi sia musicalmente che teatralmente in maniera molto potente dall\u2019allora diciannovenne Mozart. Mi riferisco al tema della guerra, sia dal punto di vista del vincitore che del vinto, alle dinamiche di potere e ai diversi modi di intenderlo e viverlo, fino all\u2019amore libero dalle imposizioni sociali di rango. Le figure femminili di quest\u2019opera sono quelle che pi\u00f9 di tutte incarnano questi principi e dimostrano grande tempra di carattere, guidando addirittura gli eventi e aiutando i personaggi maschili a realizzare i propri destini.Il lavoro attoriale intrapreso con Cecilia Ligorio<\/strong> \u00e8 stato davvero stimolante e intelligente, realistico nelle relazioni tra i personaggi e improntato a cercare il pi\u00f9 possibile una veridicit\u00e0 toccante. Ogni momento, dal recitativo alla frase di agilit\u00e0 o di legato durante le rispettive arie, \u00e8 sempre ricco di densit\u00e0 ed emozione. Il maestro Manlio Benzi<\/strong> ha aderito perfettamente a questa linea di lavoro, curando minuziosamente i recitativi e il fraseggio mozartiano, con la missione di aiutare noi artisti ad aderire anche musicalmente al Re pastore<\/em>\u00bb.
L’opera, in scena il 14, 16, 18, 21 e 23 maggio,<\/strong> sar\u00e0 anche trasmessa in radio da Rai Radio3<\/strong>.<\/td><\/tr>
