Between the first and second concerts, and after the final performance, there will also be two recording sessions for Harmonia Mundi as part of the project dedicated to Beethoven\u2019s Symphonies, ahead of the 2027 anniversary of the composer&#8217;s death.<br><br><strong>The Maestro discusses the ideas and themes that shape the programmes:<\/strong><br><br>\u00abThis season, the M\u00fcnchener Kammerorchester turns its attention to the night&nbsp;and to the act of keeping watch. But why Beethoven\u2019s&nbsp;<strong><em>Pastoral Symphony<\/em><\/strong>? So often dismissed as a Disney-fied vision of an Arcadian idyll, it is in fact \u2014 as Beethoven himself wrote \u2014 less a depiction of rural life than a remembrance of it,&nbsp;an evocation of feeling&nbsp;more&nbsp;than a painting. He recalls, and in doing so dreams of, a world he truly knew,&nbsp;transformed into a yearning for a renewed sense of humanity, in harmony with creation and in the presence of God. It is a &#8216;moral&#8217; dream, gently dissolved in the final bars, like a soap bubble at the close of its hypnotic hymn of thanksgiving.&nbsp;Preceding it on the programme are Schubert\u2019s nocturnal visions,&nbsp;by turns unsettling and tender,&nbsp;in his&nbsp;<em>Lieder<\/em>&nbsp;orchestrated by Webern and Reger and performed by soprano&nbsp;<strong>Christina Landshamer<\/strong>. Also featured are the&nbsp;<strong><em>Pastorale<\/em><\/strong>&nbsp;by the late Per N\u00f8rg\u00e5rd and Boccherini\u2019s&nbsp;<strong><em>Musica Notturna<\/em><\/strong>.Following the Munich concert, the tour continues with three more performances at the Klosters and Herrenchiemsee festivals, with music ranging from Haydn\u2019s&nbsp;<strong><em>Missa in angustiis<\/em><\/strong>&nbsp;(strikingly apt for our times)&nbsp;to Mozart\u2019s much-loved&nbsp;<em><strong>Symphony No. 40<\/strong><\/em>&nbsp;and his&nbsp;<em><strong>Haffner Serenade<\/strong><\/em>,&nbsp;<strong><a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.pressroom.cloud\/?mailpoet_router&amp;endpoint=track&amp;action=click&amp;data=WyIxMTY3IiwiMzF2MDNsZTBsazZjYzRjNGNvd29va29jb2tjZ2tvNDgiLCIxNzgiLCIwYTk3NzRhMmU4ODUiLGZhbHNlXQ\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">recently released&nbsp;by&nbsp;Harmonia Mundi<\/a><\/strong>. Perch\u00e9 dunque la&nbsp;<strong><em>Sinfonia Pastorale<\/em><\/strong>&nbsp;di Beethoven? Spesso vista come vagheggiamento disneyano di un utopico mondo arcadico, essa di fatto \u2013 come scrive lo stesso Beethoven \u2013 \u00e8 piuttosto una memoria della vita in campagna, pi\u00f9 un\u2019evocazione di sensazioni che una pittura. Egli rammenta e quindi sogna un mondo realmente vissuto, che diviene per\u00f2 aspirazione a una ritrovata dimensione umana di fronte a Dio e al tempo che ci \u00e8 dato vivere in armonia col creato. Un sogno \u201cmorale\u00bb, che si infrange come una bolla di sapone nelle ultime battute, al termine dell\u2019ipnotico canto di ringraziamento. La precedono nel programma le visioni notturne, a volte inquiete a volte tenere di Schubert, nelle orchestrazioni dei suoi&nbsp;<strong><em>Lieder<\/em><\/strong>&nbsp;realizzate da Webern e Reger e affidate alla voce di&nbsp;<strong>Christina Landshamer<\/strong>, oltre alla&nbsp;<strong><em>Pastorale<\/em>&nbsp;<\/strong>del recentemente scomparso Per N\u00f8rg\u00e5rd e alla&nbsp;<em><strong>Musica Notturna<\/strong><\/em>&nbsp;di Boccherini.
