Dave Monaco crowns his Rossini summer with
rare Cantatas at the ROF<\/strong><\/td><\/tr>

\ud83c\uddec\ud83c\udde7 After Il viaggio a Reims<\/em> in 2022 and Rossinimania<\/em> in 2023, Dave Monaco<\/strong> returns to the Rossini Opera Festival<\/strong> to \u00abcrown an unforgettable 2025 summer artistic season with another tribute to Rossini\u00bb performing as a soloist, on 17th August at the Teatro Rossini<\/strong>, in the Cantatas Il pianto di Armonia sulla morte di Orfeo <\/em>and Il pianto delle Muse in morte di Lord Byron<\/em>. The programme<\/strong><\/a> will be completed by the Cantata La morte di Didone <\/em>performed by soprano Giuliana Gianfaldoni.

\u00abI am proud to have been selected for this exceptional event, with critical editions of these three Cantatas for solo voice, chorus and orchestra being performed in a single concert (the two entrusted to me edited respectively by Marco Beghelli and Eleonora Di Cintio) \u2013 said Dave in the days leading up to the concert<\/strong>. As I studied them, I came to appreciate the immense value of the two works (moreover, Il pianto sulla morte di Orfeo<\/em> is the first work of significance by Rossini, composed when he was a sixteen-year-old student at the Liceo Filarmonico, Bologna). I also feel the honour and responsibility of singing Il pianto di Armonia<\/em> at the ROF, previously performed there only by Rockwell Blake in 1991 and Juan Diego Fl\u00f3rez in 2015. For all these reasons, I would like to dedicate this concert, which will round off my Rossini summer performances, to Blake and Fl\u00f3rez, and to express my personal thanks for everything I have learnt at the Accademia Rossiniana.I hope to see you in Pesaro on 17th August. No true Rossini lover should miss it!\u00bb

The concert will be conducted by Maestro Cesare Della Sciucca<\/strong> at the helm of the Orchestra Sinfonica G. Rossini<\/strong> and the Chorus of the Teatro Ventidio Basso<\/strong>.<\/td><\/tr>

\u00abSono orgoglioso di essere stato scelto per questo evento eccezionale, \u2013 ha esordito Dave alla vigilia del concerto \u2013<\/strong> con tre Cantate per voce sola, coro e orchestra eseguite nello stesso concerto in edizione critica (le due affidate a me, curate rispettivamente da Marco Beghelli ed Eleonora Di Cintio). Studiandole, ho apprezzato il valore straordinario delle due opere (Il pianto sulla morte di Orfeo<\/em> \u00e8, oltretutto, la prima composizione importante di Rossini, all\u2019epoca sedicenne studente al Liceo Filarmonico di Bologna). Sento l\u2019onore e la responsabilit\u00e0 di cantare Il pianto di Armonia<\/em> al ROF dopo che l\u2019hanno affrontata solo Rockwell Blake nel 1991 e Juan Diego Fl\u00f3rez nel 2015. Per tutto questo, dedico il mio ultimo Rossini di questa estate a Blake e Fl\u00f3rez e il mio personale ringraziamento per tutto quello che ho imparato all\u2019Accademia Rossiniana.Ci vediamo a Pesaro il 17 agosto, nessun vero rossiniano potr\u00e0 mancare!\u00bb
