\ud83c\uddec\ud83c\udde7 Tomorrow, 26th May, Giuliana Gianfaldoni makes her debut at the Teatro dell\u2019Opera di Roma<\/strong> in the purest spirit of Rossini, in the new production of Tancredi <\/strong><\/em>presented in its tragic-ending version. Conducted by Michele Mariotti<\/strong> and directed by Emma Dante<\/strong>, inspired by the tradition of the Opera dei Pupi, this production has been winning over audiences and critics alike.

\u201cI am still discovering Amenaide,\u201d Gianfaldoni says<\/strong>. \u201cAs I have never previously performed her on stage, this almost feels like a true debut, and to do so in such a historic theatre as the Rome Opera makes me particularly proud.\u201d A distinguished interpreter of Rossini and the belcanto repertoire, the soprano from Taranto also describes Amenaide, from a vocal perspective, as \u201cthe Rossini role most suited to my voice: agile, yes, but also lyrical and more dramatically nuanced.\u201d

She is joined by countertenor Carlo Vistoli<\/strong> as the Sicilian prince Tancredi, Antonino Siragusa <\/strong>as Argirio, Luca Tittoto<\/strong> as Orbazzano, Ekaterine Buachidze<\/strong> as Isaura, and Maria Elena Pepi<\/strong> as Roggiero.

\u00abPer me Amenaide \u00e8 ancora una scoperta\u00bb, dichiara la Gianfaldoni<\/strong>. \u00abNon avendola mai interpretata scenicamente, \u00e8 quasi come affrontare un vero debutto, e farlo in un teatro storico come l\u2019Opera di Roma mi rende particolarmente orgogliosa\u00bb. Grande interprete rossiniana e del repertorio belcantistico, il soprano tarantino definisce anche vocaalmente Amenaide \u00abil Rossini pi\u00f9 adatto alla mia voce: agile, s\u00ec, ma anche legato e pi\u00f9 drammatico\u00bb.
