I&#8217;m in the same situation as those sparrows.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Happy swallows and cranes have fled this land.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8211;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>But I have hope.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In the neighbor&#8217;s yard,<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>I will mow the grass.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8211;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Curse me, beggar woman.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Curse me, let my Azrael come.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Let Azrael come with a sickle in his hand.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Let him help me a little &#8211;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>I will mow the grass in the neighbor&#8217;s yard.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>4<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>War Memories<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u2013<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A yellow horse came to the village from somewhere.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>People used it for hard work.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It had become so thin that<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>You could count its ribs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u2026 Then the war began.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The yellow horse was left without an owner.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It retreated to the forests, became wild,<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>And became very fat.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Its neighing was like thunder.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In short, the war had been favorable for it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u2013<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The village had been deserted.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The chickens had gone wild, and so had the geese.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The dogs had gone wild.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>They were hunting mice in the fields and frogs in the river.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>And the war had been favorable for them.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8211;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The gardens were not cultivated.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The plants had gone wild.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The fruits tasted like forest fruits.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8211;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The bees had gone wild.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Bee colonies had moved into the forests.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8211;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>People had gone wild.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>People were killing each other.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The war was also convenient for some people.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Only they were civilized:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Ironed shirts, ties, etc.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>They were the ones who caused the war.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8211;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>After the war, those civilized people<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>established businesses for themselves.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>They held high positions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8211;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>I knew one of them.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>His name was Valik.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>During the war, he traded in corpses.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>After the war, he became the owner of hotels and restaurants.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In his hotels, he began to trade in women.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>He distributed horse meat to people in his restaurant.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8211;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Perhaps, for the freedom of that yellow horse,<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>For the freedom of geese, chickens, dogs, bees, plants,<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>He could be forgiven.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>But in his restaurant<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>He distributed horse meat, goose meat, chicken meat, honey.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It turned out that he had no love for nature either.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8211;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>But nature had a love for him:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Leaving a huge fortune to his children,<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>One day Valik died in a civilized manner.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Now one son would run the restaurant,<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>And the other would run the prostitution business.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8211;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>There was a huge crowd at the funeral.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>They were filling his grave with earth,<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>As if the wounds of war were healing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>5<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Because he had grown old, a shepherd dog was abandoned.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>He whimpered in front of a butcher\u2019s shop in the city.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The butcher took pity on him<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>And threw him the head of a ram.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A few days later, the dog\u2019s body was found nearby.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>He had not eaten the ram\u2019s head.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>He had laid his own head upon it and died.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>By the way\u2014<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>That ram had been the old ram of the flock he once guarded.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The butcher became very moved.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>His own old age came before his eyes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>His father was in a retirement home.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>His son was in prison because of drug addiction.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>\u200bBahtiyar Hidayet | Biography<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>\u200bBahtiyar Hidayet is an Azerbaijani poet and educator, born in 1974.
