| 🇬🇧 After an intense and successful tour of Japan, comprising both operas and concerts, Luciano Ganci returns to Italy to take on the role of Turiddu in Mascagni’s Cavalleria Rusticana. He first debuted the role in 2011 in New Delhi and has performed it more recently in Vienna; now, for the first time in Italy, he will bring it to the stage of the Opera Carlo Felice in Genoa, in performances on 14, 16 and 22 November. «For me, singing as Turiddu means giving sound and substance to passion, honour and revenge, says Luciano. «This tragedy has its origins in rural Sicily, where love burns like the sun, and where pride and honour are entwined in a single tragic dance, mapping out the destiny of individuals. Ancient, barbaric traditions are ignited amidst timeless melodies and marvellous music. 2025 is the my Turiddu year: now at the Opera Carlo Felice, Genoa, for the first time in Italy in fact, while at the beginning of the year, I sang in this role at the Wiener Staatsoper. The series will continue in 2026… new encounters, new emotions, but the same eternal passion for singing and for opera!» This staging revives the 2019 production by Teatrialchemici – Luigi Di Gangi and Ugo Giacomazzi, with musical direction by Davide Massiglia. Audiences are also invited to attend a pre-performance introduction in the Sala Paganini, presented by students of the “Niccolò Paganini” Conservatory before each performance. |

| 🇮🇹 Dopo un’intensa e fortunata tournée in Giappone, fatta di opere e concerti, Luciano Ganci torna in Italia per vestire i panni di Turiddu nella Cavalleria Rusticana di Mascagni. La parte, nella quale ha debuttato già nel 2011 a New Dehli e che ha proposto anche recentemente a Vienna, viene ora affrontata per la prima volta in Italia all’Opera Carlo Felice di Genova, nelle recite del 14, 16 e 22 novembre. «Cantare Turiddu significa, per me, dare corpo e voce alla passione, all’onore e alla vendetta, commenta Luciano. Un dramma che nasce nella Sicilia contadina, dove l’amore brucia come il sole e dove orgoglio e onore si intrecciano in un’unica tragica danza definendo il destino delle persone. Antiche e barbare usanze si accendono tra melodie immortali e musiche meravigliose. Il 2025 è l’anno del mio Turiddu: ora all’Opera Carlo Felice di Genova, di fatto per la prima volta in Italia. E, a inizio anno, l’ho cantato alla Wiener Staatsoper. La serie continuerà nel 2026… nuovi incontri, nuove emozioni, la stessa eterna passione per il canto e l’opera lirica!» L’allestimento è la ripresa della produzione del 2019 firmata da Teatrialchemici – Luigi Di Gangi e Ugo Giacomazzi, mentre la direzione musicale è affidata a Davide Massiglia. Prima di ogni recita il pubblico potrà assistere all’introduzione all’ascolto nella Sala Paganini, a cura degli allievi del Conservatorio “Niccolò Paganini”. |
