| I sang for the first time as Madama Butterfly at the New York Metropolitan Opera in 2022, in the poetical production by Antony Minghella and, since then, in just a few years, Cio-Cio-San has become one of my signature roles: I’ve taken her onto the stage and into concert halls from Paris to Rome, and from Baden Baden to Berlin. Now I’m getting ready to perform this vocally, theatrically and emotionally immense role at my beloved Wiener Staatsoper, in that very same production created by Minghella.I will be on stage for all the December performances, on 5th, 7th, 9th and 12th. |
